This is a relatively gentle trekking route, ideal for travellers wishing to combine nature, local culture and cave exploration.
10:30: Arrive near the cave entrance, rest and enjoy lunch prepared by local people. Vegetarian and vegan meals are available with advance notice.
12:00: After lunch, climb a steep 300-metre trail to reach a secondary entrance to Rục Mòn Cave.
Explore the three-level dry cave system, featuring impressive stalactites, rock walls and distinctive geological formations. Some sections rise more than 10 metres and are equipped with ladders and safety ropes.
Continue down to the kayak launch point. Adventurous guests may take an optional five-metre jump into the cool underground river.
After a safety briefing and kayaking instruction, paddle for nearly one kilometre along the underground river, discovering the cave’s peaceful and mysterious interior.
16:30–17:00: Kayak back to the cave entrance, rest, change clothes and enjoy a light snack. Trek back to Yên Phú Village before returning to Phong Nha by vehicle.
