This traditional cultural–sporting event has been celebrated for generations in Lệ Thủy District, Quảng Bình. Held every year on the morning of September 2nd (Vietnam’s National Day), the festival gathers dozens of men’s and women’s boat teams from riverside communes to compete on the emerald-green Kiến Giang River. Located in An Xá Village, Lệ Thủy, Quảng Bình, this memorial site preserves the childhood home and humble beginnings of General Võ Nguyên Giáp, the legendary military commander. Nestled in a peaceful countryside setting, the three-compartment wooden house and historical relics tell the story of a man who devoted his life to the nation. Visiting the memorial is not only a journey into history but also a moment to feel deep pride and gratitude for one of Vietnam’s greatest heroes.
