Earth Day, April 22 – Planting Trees to Mitigate Climate Change

22-04-2024 00:00

Albert Einstein once said, 'Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.', a sentiment that resonates with Peter Wohlleben's 'The Hidden Life of Trees'. Nature is too wondrous and mysterious for us to fully comprehend, but there is an immediate sense of connection when you immerse yourself in the natural world. We usually think that humans derive energy from food and drink – certainly, that's not enough. You feel remarkably refreshed when faced with rivers, majestic mountains, expansive seas, the silver shimmer of dawn, or the chirping of birds on an early morning, and the scent of rice drifting across the fields at dusk... We receive various forms of energy through sights, sounds, tastes, and empathy...

Author Peter Wohlleben deeply senses nature through his work 'The Hidden Life of Trees',  as above mentioned by Albert Einstein. The plant world is likely the origin and occupies the majority of our planet - the only home of all species. We know too little about trees, but Peter Wohlleben knows more because 'The Hidden Life of Trees' reveals the soul, protection, and love trees offer to all life forms. Therefore, David Suzuki wrote, 'You will never look at a tree the same way after reading The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben, a book that unveils the astonishing traits and behaviors of these terrestrial giants. Read the book, then go outside and hug a tree - with all the gratitude and admiration you can muster.'

April 22 is Earth Day, and inspired by the words of Albert Einstein, the book by Peter Wohlleben, and the perception of David Suzuki, I have created this video intro combined with a clip of Tue Nhan and his peers from Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized School performing - GenZ for a green planet - to commemorate Earth Day.

We are now promoting the 'Plant Trees to Reduce Climate Change' program in disadvantaged areas to create an environment, livelihood, raise environmental awareness, and alleviate the harshness of the weather, connecting the community for a brighter future."

Seeking Climate Justice: Acknowledging Historical Truths

On World Environment Day, Professor Joyeeta Gupta (simulated) offers a powerful lens through which to examine the global climate crisis—one grounded in historical truths and justice. She argues that climate change is not merely a consequence of industrial development or population growth, but the product of a fundamentally unjust and unsustainable development model rooted in colonial legacies.

Balneotherapy: The Natural Art of Water Healing

Balneotherapy, the ancient art of healing through mineral-rich waters, mud, and steam, has stood the test of time—blending centuries-old traditions with modern wellness practices. From easing joint pain to refreshing the mind, it offers a natural path to health that’s both restorative and deeply rooted in nature.

The Green Planet – Plants on Earth

Earth, our "green planet," is the home where life has developed and evolved over billions of years. Within Earth's complex ecosystems, plants play a central role, not only as a source of life for countless species but also as a crucial factor in maintaining planetary balance.

Khe Sanh in March – The Hills Where Coffee Flowers and Fruit Awaken Together

Khe Sanh – Where Nature and Daily Life Flow as One

When March arrives, Khe Sanh awakens in a dazzling display of blossoms and scent.
This land, quiet and humble for most of the year, bursts into color with the pure white bloom of coffee flowers and the vibrant red ripening of jackfruit coffee berries.
It’s not just a season—it’s a living canvas where nature and people breathe in harmony, painting the hills with fragrance, light, and life.
